The goal of Rock Solid Character
(RSC) is to provide the most POWERFUL
character education program to students, parents and school officials.
We achieve this with the help of 24 and 25 foot portable rock climbing
walls, action-based activities, enthusiastic instructors and insightful
support lesson plans. RSC is proud to introduce our year-round character
curriculum called, "Get a GRIP on Character"
for grades K through 8th.

Is it possible for students to learn about
positive character development through rock climbing? ABSOLUTELY! Rock Solid Character's rock is a perfect metaphor for the "climb of life." Students learn that life is full of challenges and that in order to be successful they must get a GRIP on "handholds of character." Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Trustworthiness, Caring/Cooperation, Courage and Perseverance are the universal character traits RSC calls the "7 Handholds for Success." By coupling a positive lesson with an exciting adventure . . . students remember! |

Does it take a long time to set up the Rock
and get everything ready to climb? We back THE ROCK into an open area (20'x20'), away from power lines, overhanging trees, noisy areas and other distractions. Set up takes approximately 30 minutes. Three or four educational facilitators accompany the rock to teach the character lessons and assist the children with safety harnesses and a safe climb. |

What is the best way to bring
this unique program to our school? We desire Rock Solid Character to enhance school, parents, community and business synergy. "Come Together-Accomplish More!" This can be achieved by involving the PTA and businesses in bringing the rock to the school. Businesses within the community may sponsor Rock Solid Character, a non-profit organization. In the process, businesses receive good community PR and a potential tax advantage. |
